A celebrity is among us! Meet Lucille Bald, who, in 2006, had the honor of being named Animal Planet’s “World’s 3rd Ugliest Dog!” Lucille Bald is a Chinese Crested Hairless and my first portrait of this breed. I was so excited to receive the photo of her when she was first commissioned, how could you not love that face?!? However, I knew I had my work cut out for me to capture her true “ugliness”. She was known for being “so ugly she’s cute”, so I really wanted her portrait to represent not only her award-winning ugliness, but also her spirit and what her parents loved about her.
